The early part of the year 2019 saw the eastern region of the country hit hard by Cyclone Idai. BBR, among other well-wishers, rolled up its sleeves and was anxiously engaged in the work of offering relief to victims. Donations of tents and materials to rebuild infrastructure were made by Beitbridge Bulawayo Railway.
It was truly remarkable how the world reached out to assist Zimbabwe and its neighbours in the aftermath of Cyclone Idai.
Beitbridge Bulawayo Railway (BBR) contributed to these efforts by donating six men tents valued at ZWL105,000.00 to provide immediate temporary shelter for families affected by the disaster.
As a follow-up project, BBR also donated 21,600 bags of cement to support the restoration of damaged infrastructure in the affected areas, working through the relevant authorities.
Through these contributions, BBR played a part in rebuilding lives and critical infrastructure for communities devastated by the cyclone.
Lifting where we stood became more meaningful as we lifted each other in times of distress.
